Who is St. Stephen?

St. Stephen, Our Patron
“Love was Stephen’s weapon by which he gained every battle and so won the crown signified by his name.”
St. Fulgentius of Ruspe (460-533)
At St. Stephen Catholic School, we take our mission cue from St. Stephen, our patron saint. Like him, our community—from our pastor and faculty to our students and parishioners—strive to boldly bear witness to the goodness of Christ in world so desperately in need of him.
An exemplar and martyr, St. Stephen was also a notable academic, teaching the scriptures and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ courageously to the most educated individuals of his time as well as to anyone who would listen. And, with a heart filled with love of neighbor, when he was persecuted, he asked God to forgive them.
Inspired by his zeal, our mission is to prepare every student entrusted to us to become both the great saint and the accomplished scholar God has intended them to be.
