Ten fun facts about St. Stephen Catholic School

I.

St. Stephen was founded in 1981.

II.

Our school is pre-K through 8th grade, with a capacity for 214 students.

III.

St. Stephen continues to have the highest test scores in the region among other K-8 schools.

IV.

We pride ourselves in having a diverse school community, and have no less than five primary languages spoken in our homes: English, Spanish, Polish, Chinese, and Portuguese.

V.

St. Stephen is our patron saint, so our favorite color is naturally maroon (for the dark red blood of the martyrs) and navy blue.

VI.

Weekly all-school Mass is one of the highlights of our week.

VII.

Our music program, which began in 2025, is thriving, bringing the joy of learning to play and perform to our middle school students.

VIII.

Our mascot is an eagle, even though we don’t have a sports team! Our middle schoolers participate in sports programs through area public schools.

IX.

We love spirit days, Bible bowls, and a good old fish fry! We love our teachers, our families, and our priests.

X.

​We are a Colorado mountain town, through and through, our local hot springs and ski resorts are a great pastime for all our staff and families. Even if the conditions are too bad for buses to drive to school for a snow day, it’s almost always possible to hit the slopes!
