Faith in Action

Because what you do every day matters
Nurturing a strong and stable faith in our students is at the heart of Catholic education at St. Stephen. Every day, students have the opportunity to practice and grow in their faith.
Daily Prayer
The school day begins and ends with prayer, acknowledging God’s providence over all our lives.
Mass Buddies
In addition to receiving recognition, older students also learn the value of selfless giving with programs such as Mass Buddies, where seventh and eighth graders take students in Kindergarten and first grade under their wing during weekly Mass, giving intermediary students the opportunity for servant leadership.
Devotions
Outside of Mass, students also have multiple opportunities for prayer with their classmates including the rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and spending time in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.
Catechesis & Service
While older students receive catechetical instruction daily and are required to undertake works of service in and out the classroom, preschool and Kindergarten-aged children benefit from Catechesis of the Good Shepard, a Montessori-based learning environment based on Scripture and Catholic liturgy that invites youngsters into relationship with God by building foundational trust in Jesus as the Good Shepherd.
